"Growing up, I was surrounded by my dad’s vision to create a youth theatre with a difference. As a long standing professional actor, he constantly strived for perfection. This search led to many of his productions receiving many an acclaim and accolade. His real passion lay in working with the young. He was proud to have developed the acting skills and confidence of York’s young people, many of whom have gone on to enjoy success as professional actors. Dad worked tirelessly to fulfil his dream of converting the old Methodist church hall on Monkgate into a theatre for young talent to flourish and grow. It is wonderful to now see this ethos continue and develop with the latest generation at Theatre@41. I am delighted to become a patron to such a dedicated and passionate company."
